Only on successfully completion of the course will first aiders be deemed to have the required competence and qualification to administer first aid in the workplace. A certificate will be issues and this will be valid for a 3 year period.
First aiders will be required to renew their training every 3 years by again completing the appropriate course. To ensure first aiders maintain their skills it is recommended an annual half day refresher course is completed but this is not a mandatory requirement.
