From the 1^st October 2004 business will have to consider the physical improvement of premises they are responsible for to ensure disabled people are not discriminated against.

This may include:-

· Access ramps for wheel chair users
· Installing a disabled toilet
· Providing clearer signage for the visually impaired
· Installing an induction loop system for deaf people

The act refers to reasonable adjustments which means making the necessary adjustments at a cost that does not force businesses to go bankrupt. If you do not make the changes you may be open to court action.
