final exit, door to stairway (which is a protected route) or a door in
a compartment wall.

risk environments such as offices the regulations suggest;

One direction of escape the permitted
distance of travel from within each workroom is 25 metres.

|
One direction of escape the total permitted
distance of travel is 18 metres.
|
|
Two or more directions of escape the
total permitted distance of travel is 45 metres.
|
|
Signage should clearly define all escape
routes. Where natural lighting is poor they should be illuminated.
