Employees should be provided with basic induction training immediately after commencing employment. This will ensure everyone will have the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out their work safely.

Training should cover the company's health & safety arrangements such as first aid arrangements, fire precautions and evacuation arrangements. Additionally any employees who carry out specific work activities should be provided with in depth training including:

- Risks to health & safety arising from work activities.

- The measures taken to prevent and reduce risks.

- How to safely use and maintain work equipment and PPE.

- The responsibilities of employees to comply with site rules and safe working practices.

Further training will be required if employees are exposed to any new or increased risks from changes to their work environment or their responsibilities.
Risk assessment should determine frequency of refresher training.
